Hello, world
James Johnson.
Aspiring Cybersecurity Professional
I'm a recent high school graduate from Bardstown, Kentucky with a genuine passion for technology and cybersecurity. I took dual credit CIT courses through ECTC in high school and have been building and tinkering on my own ever since. Now I'm heading to ECTC for my Associate's in Computer Information Technology, with plans to transfer to WKU for a B.S. in Cybersecurity.
What I'm Into
Areas of Focus
Cybersecurity
My main passion. I'm drawn to how systems can be protected, tested, and hardened. Currently learning networking fundamentals, ethical hacking concepts, and security tools.
Web Development
I enjoy building things on the web — from laying out a clean front end to getting a server talking to a database. This portfolio site is a real example of what I can put together.
Tinkering & Self-Hosting
I like setting things up myself rather than just clicking through a wizard. Home labs, self-hosted services, and figuring out how things actually work under the hood.
